HISTORY OF DEVELOPMENT OF METHODS OF TREATMENT OF MENINGIOMAS OF THE SKULL

Abstract

This literature review examines methods of treating meningiomas, including promising areas in this area. The most important events in the history of the development of surgical techniques for treating meningiomas are described. Data from modern studies are presented and new developments in the treatment of skull base meningiomas are highlighted: medical robotic systems, targeted therapy, radiosurgery, and proton therapy.
